Art Class

Good work, but it definitely had an art class feel to it -- like you were more interested in the various mediums you used than the concepts portrayed. I was impressed by the water colors. I think they mix well with flash and final cut pro. You should definitely use water colors in some future projects.

aba1 responds:

Thanks and I have to admit the animation was a little off here and there but I had to completely redo a few things and I was on a time limit to begin with so I was rushed from the get go. I think I might try something a little more funny in future project :P

boom shakalaka

All that energy in the movements of the planes diving and shooting and getting shot up sets this cartoon apart from everything else. Wasn't sure about the geopolitics at the end, but I did enjoy the moral inquiries in the minds of the three characters at the end. Sweet, man.

needs more

The characters are funny and the animations are done well, though I'd like to see more animation. The backgrounds seem particularly boring and underdone and it definately needs sound, if only some music. Still, good job otherwise.

cartoony

I like the cartoony actions and the funny sound clip choices, but hasn't it been 2009 for a year and a half?

Intricate in design and story

Relying on the many textures and colors to make the otherwise simple character designs was a great move. It makes the animation really pop. The story is exciting because the characters are each different in motivation, if slightly, and the villain is awesome so far. I especially like the voice effects.

Kieran-s responds:

Hey thanks, I agree, GiantJuicyKickballs did a great job in "vampirising" his character.

fantastic

The theme is strikingly funny, and the smooth animation of the army men really makes the movement of the shoddy and childishly drawn "noob" characters stand out. The idea is great and the execution with the spectacular imagery and sound/music is awesome.

Accolades

Stick men videos are so overdone, that is difficult for any one to stand out. In this cartoon, however, the three-dimensional environment helps this cartoon stand out.

Good work, but I'd still like to see more. Maybe some plot or some action other than te usual knock-down brawl.

Kwing responds:

Stick figures are great for body language in expression, but for a plotline, it's really better to have some kind of fullbody. This is an RHG, mind you, so while maybe it could have used dialogue, it can't have too much of a plot.

More great work

The writing is very witty; you are very good at illustrating inanity. I noticed that you used more cut scenes in this one than usual but only to bring the silly ideas of the producers to life. My favorite scene was the first, the man declaring himself LORD OF THE RINGS!!!

sirjeffofshort responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We are looking to bring a little more action to the series in the future, but I do have a special affinity for the inane moments in life.

too short

The animation is pretty good. Dancing can be hard to animate, though it helps to have a simple character like yours. However, it was too short and the animation was too basic to be humorous. I suggest you spend a little more time developing a joke or even a short story before animating. Still, this is good practice.

funny, but slow

Windows is so familiar to all of us that it is funny to see all the problems in the context of a video. You did a good job of recreating the look and feel of windows. However, because it is so familiar, the subject can be a little boring and the flash feels a little slow.
